Swimming Pools and Fences

Bevil Oaks Residents, 

This is just a reminder that there are requirements  for pools having enclosures/fences around them in Texas provided by the Texas Health and Safety Code. You are also required to pull a permit with the City for your pool. The permit costs are as follows:

In-ground- $190.00

Above-ground- $110.00

Chapter 757 establishes some minimum rules for pool enclosures. As a general rule in the state of Texas, all public and residential pools must have:

• An enclosed fence surrounding the pool or yard that is at least 48” in height.
• No gaps between the ground and bottom of the fence that are more than 4”.
• No chain-link or slats that can be climbed by children.
• A lockable, self-closing, self-latching gate for safe, easy entrance and exiting that is also at least 48” high.
• Specific locks and alarms for home doors and windows that open onto an indoor or patio pool.
